ABOUT THE COMPETITION

There is no denying that India has improved its sanitation coverage through the Government of India's 'Clean India' compaign. The Indian waste management market is witnessing a healthy grouth rate, owing to the high population denisty and increased industrial activity, which is generating high amounts of wastes, both hazardous and non-hazardus. They are adopting newer, innovative, cost-effective approaches and technology to address waste.

Over the years, CII has been recognising industries for innovative ideologies through various awards & competitions. One such competition on Industrial Waste Management was launched last year and the 2nd Edition is being organised on 5 july 2022.

OBJECTIVE

To recognise and award excellence in waste management practices
To facilitate sharing of best practices amongst the industry adopted by the Industries / Institutions / Organizations.
To showcase and recognise the systematic adoption of principles to manage their waste through recycling, reusing, and generating revenue through wastes.
To showcase and recognise the organisations for their commitment under 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.
To showcase and recognise the technology adopted for managing the wastes.

HOW TO APPLY?

Select the category which you would be applying. For every category, submit separate application.
Submit the duly filled-in application alongwith the synopsis of your projects based on the category selected. Refer the Application Form for More details for project Submission.
500 words / 1 page synopsis of the project nominated.
Image / Video of the Project.
External Testimonial: 1(Optional)
Same company / unit can apply upto 5 projects in a defferent category.
Every submitted projects are treated as individual nomination and the fee to be paid accordingly.

COMPETITION PROCESS

The competition will have following three levels after submission of the application along with free and project details

LEVEL 1 - Short-listing of the projects.
LEVEL 2 - Validation of select projects.
LEVEL 3 - Short-listed best projects in each category will be invited for a presentation. Every individual projects need to be presented by the applicants separately for selecting the best out of best.

The nominated project must be currently in operation. The projects should be in operation for min of one year and not more than 5 years.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Upon short-listing of projects (Level-1 & 2), a team comprising of 2 members(max) would be invited to make the presentation.

Time allocated for each presentation would be 15 min followed by Q&A for 5 minutes. (Total 20 minutes per presentation)

The project presention would be evaluated on the following:

Innovations / technologies involved
Volume of water recycled / resused during current year
Implementation and operational feasibility
Replicability of the project
Impact on busines and environment

SELECTION OF WINNERS

After short-listing in the Level-1, the experts panel would do the site visit virtually and evaluate the projects.

Duration of the site visit will be for 2-3 hrs. Different Jury team may evaluate for each category.

CII jury team will decide upon the winners based on the defined selection criteria for each category.

Prize distribution ceremony will be organised after completion of all the presentations

The decision of the juries in selection of winners will be deemed as final.

Stage-3	Virtual site visit by Jury members	15-18 June 2022
Stage-4	Presentation and interaction	05 July 2022
Stage-5	Prize distribution ceremony	05 July 2022

REGISTRATION PROCESS

1. Submission of Application Form along with synopsis is a must to confirm participation.
2. Multiple units form the same organisation can apply for this competition. Same unit can apply or multiple categories and fee for each category to be paid separately.
3. The last date for receiving the application is 28 June 2022.
4. participation fee to be paid on before 28 June 2022.
5. Participation fee is non-refundable.
6. Apart from 2 members, the applicant company can nominate additional member to join the presentation team.
